That ’90s Show, the spin-off to the iconic That ’70s Show, is officially getting a second season on Netflix. Finally!

On Saturday, Netflix released a teaser announcing that season 2 of That ’90s Show is going to be released in two parts. 

The second part of the That ’90s Show Season 2 will be released on 27 June 2024 with eight episodes, and another eight will arrive on October 24, 2024.

The teaser has also revealed the cast that is going to be back in the action.

On Saturday (May 11, 2024) Netflix released “That ’90s Show Season 2” release date with a short teaser. 

Well, the news is that season 2 will split up into two parts. Part 2 will released on June 27 with 8 episodes, and part 3 will arrive on October 24 with the remaining 8 episodes.  

Yes, there is going to be too much gap between these two parts. But this split into two parts can benefit the show by preventing the cast from ageing out of their roles. 

In the first season, the main concern of the fans was whether the actors would age out of their roles in the future season. 

So this split has allowed a quick development of these cast for the future seasons.

That 90s Show Season 2 Trailer 

The trailer for That ’90s Show Season 2 is not out yet. But on 11th May, Netflix released a teaser of part two. 

Since season 2 is releasing soon, you can expect the trailer to be released one or two weeks before June 27.

The core season 1 members will be reprising their roles led by Callie Haverda as Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna. 

And, of course,  we will see Gwen, Nikki, and Nate joining Leia over the season.

There is also the possibility that the original That ‘70s Show cast members are also set to make a comeback, with Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp confirmed to return as the iconic Red and Kitty Forman.

The first season of That ‘90s Show consisted of 10 episodes, but in the upcoming second season, it is confirmed that season 2 has 16 episodes.

As mentioned earlier, these 16 episodes are going to be split into two parts with 8 episodes in each part. 

The storyline for these parts is not clear yet. 

But on the basis of the teaser released by Netflix, this season will continue the story of Leia Forman and her friends in Point Place, picking up after the Season 1 finale.

The good news is that season two of That ’90s Show will be exclusively available to stream on Netflix, just like the first season. 

Since Netflix commissioned and produced the show, it will remain a Netflix original series going forward.

That 90s Show Filming Locations

For season 1, this show was filmed at Sunset Bronson Studios in Hollywood, CA. So, you can expect that season 2 will be filming at the same studio in Los Angeles, CA. 

The filming for Season 2 of That ’90s Show was initially set to commence on May 26, 2023, and conclude on September 29. 

However, due to delays caused by the ongoing WGA (Writers Guild of America) strikes, production was affected, leading to a rescheduling of filming dates.

The filming locations for the new season are expected to be similar to those used in Season 1.

What will Season 2 Be About?

While the exact plot for Season 2 has not been confirmed, it is expected to pick up where the first season left off, with Leia Forman returning to Point Place, Wisconsin.

According to what we have seen in the teaser, we can say that the season is set in 1996. We see Leia is back for another summer in Point Place. 

Leia and Jay seem excited to meet each other again after nine months of long distance. 

Now, in the first season, we saw romantic entanglements between Leia, Jay, and Nate. So Leia and Nate are concerned that Jay does not know that they have kissed (almost). 

So, for season 2, we can speculate there could be a continuation of Leia’s journey as she has feelings for both Jay and Nate.

We can also expect the return of familiar faces like Red and Kitty Forman, along with the original That ’70s Show’s depth and humor to Season 2.
