New Beginnings with “The Emptiness Machine”
Linkin Park dropped “One More Light” seven years ago, and just a couple of months later, the lead singer Chester Bennington gave his life to suicide. Due to this tragic loss, the band went silent till this year.
But now, Mike Shinoda, along with Brad Delson, Dave Farrell, and Joe Hahn, have come together with new energy, creativity, and new members. Joining them is Emily Armstrong, a powerful vocalist from the band DEAD SARA, and Colin Brittain, a talented drummer who has worked with artists like ILLENIUM and ONE OK ROCK.
Their first release, “The Emptiness Machine,” showcases the band’s signature style of explosive energy, heavy riffs, and haunting vocals.
“From Zero” World Tour and Album Release
The band is releasing a brand-new album titled “From Zero“, a nod to their early days when they first started as a band under the name “Xero.” According to Mike Shinoda, this album reflects their journey from the past to the present and into the future. “It’s about embracing who we were, who we are, and who we’re becoming,” says Shinoda, hinting that fans can expect both nostalgia and surprises from the new music.
“From Zero” World Tour, which kicks off with arena shows in cities like Los Angeles, New York, London, Seoul and more. Fans have been buzzing with excitement since Linkin Park started teasing this global tour, marking their first live performance in years.
Mike Shinoda is the Only Founding Member On The New Album Tour
Mike Shinoda recently opened up about the absence of two founding members, Rob Bourdon and Brad Delson, from Linkin Park’s upcoming tour. Rob, the band’s original drummer since 1996, expressed a desire to step back from the band a few years ago, citing a need to put distance between himself and the group.
Rob’s gradual withdrawal became noticeable, especially when he missed key events like the Hybrid Theory re-release and Papercuts. Though it was tough for Mike and the band, they support Rob’s choice to focus on what makes him happy.
Brad Delson, the lead guitarist, also confirmed that he won’t be performing on this new tour.
Brad extended his best wishes to the band in this new chapter. In their place, Emily Armstrong joins as co-vocalist, and Colin Brittain steps in as the drummer, with Alex Feder moving up as lead guitarist.
This lineup shift leaves Mike as the only founding member still actively touring with the band.
So Are We Getting a Linkin Park 2025 Reunion Tour?
Beyond the new album and its promotional tour, there’s a lot of chatter about a potential 2025 reunion tour. This tour could mark a significant moment in the band’s history—a female vocalist may step into the role left by Chester Bennington.
There have been various rumors floating around, with some industry insiders suggesting that a female singer would be a perfect fit for the band’s evolution. While nothing has been confirmed, the idea has sparked a lot of debate among fans. The loss of Chester was heartbreaking for both the band and the fans, but this new direction could bring a fresh perspective while still honoring his memory.
Amy Lee, the lead singer of Evanescence, was one of the names that came up during fan discussions. However, she quickly put those rumors to rest, stating that she hadn’t been approached by the band. While she found the idea exciting, she clarified that there was no truth to her joining the group, at least for now.
Mike Shinoda, when asked about the possibility of a reunion tour, remained vague, saying that “when there’s something to tell you, we’ll tell you” and reminding fans that official news will come straight from the band.
How Are Fans Reacting To The New Linkin Park?
There are mixed reactions to this Linkin Park new beginning. Mainly because of the inclusion of Emily Armstrong. Who had ties with the Church of Scientology and showed support for convicted rapist and actor Danny Masterson. She took to Instgram later to clarify things tho. Read about it in the next section.
There are other reasons, too, such as the absence of the core band members.
Here are some screenshots from Linkin Park’s Instagram post comment section that perfectly sums up the situation:

Emily Armstrong’s Message To All The Fans (And Critics)
Some people are not happy to see Emily with Linkin Park. Mainly due to their earlier associations with the Church of Scientology and Danny Masterson (convicted rapist).
Emily was quick to respond to the matter; She took to Instagram stories to put the word out. See the image below to know what she said.
Final Word
Linkin Park is going on a world tour to promote their latest Album, but the tour misses two of the original three members that formed the band back in the day. There is a vague possibility of a reunion tour in 2025.
63 shows have been confirmed for the “From Zero” tour, which will commence on Nov 15, 2024.
