Coldplay might have one more show up their sleeve
There are rumors about one more Coldplay show happening in Ahmedabad. By talking to industry insiders and connecting the dots, we are speculating that the new show is indeed happening and the announcement will be made on the 4th of October with tickets going live on the 6th of October.
The 4th Coldplay show will likely be happening on 25th January 2025. The venue for it will be Narendra Modi Stadium (this will be the biggest show that Coldplay has ever done as it is the stadium with the largest capacity in the world)
How did we connect the dots?
- Atul Khatri, a well-known comedian, uploaded a reel of his Coldplay experience in Budapest, and at the end of the video, he mentions that India will get 4 Coldplay shows in January, with one show in Ahmedabad!
- We decided to cross-check it by seeing the hotel occupancy during that time. Here is a Screenshot of the chat that happened! But one drawback of this is that the occupancy can also be high due to Republic Day.
Enough evidence that the show is indeed happening?

Coldplay as a band and Chris Martin solo have been to India multiple times. Let’s look at the timeline of their visits here:
Chris Martin with an Impromptu gig at a Delhi Cafe (2015)
In 2015, Delhiites got an unexpected treat when Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin performed an impromptu gig at the Summer House Cafe in Hauz Khas village. The singer was accompanied by music composer Vishal Dadlani, musician Raghu Dixit, and members of the comedy collective AIB.
As the story goes, Martin borrowed Raghu’s guitar and treated the small crowd to hits like “Paradise” and “Viva la Vida.” The event was spontaneous resulting in a memorable night for all the people present there.

Following Chris Martin’s unexpected jam session in Delhi, it came as no surprise that the entire band had been in India to film a music video. Which later came out to be for their single “Hymn for the weekend“.
The video includes a Holi sequence shot in the truly colorful Worli village. The video also features Beyonce and Sonam Kapoor.
First Coldplay performance in India – Global Citizen India Festival (2016)
In November 2016, Coldplay graced the stage at the Global Citizen Festival India. This was the band’s first-ever public performance in the country. The event, aimed at raising awareness and funds to combat poverty, witnessed a huge gathering of music lovers, activists, and philanthropists.
Coldplay’s performance was nothing short of magical. The British band delivered hits like “Fix You” and “Yellow” to newer tracks from their album “A Head Full of Dreams“.
What made the evening even more special was the band’s collaboration with A. R. Rahman. Chris Martin sang “Vande Mataram” and the crowd sang along.
Here is a glimpse of this special moment from the special evening.
Beyond the music, Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin used the platform to advocate for global issues. He urged the audience to take action against poverty, inequality, and climate change, reflecting the values of the Global Citizen movement.
Indian fans traveled to other Asian cities to see Coldplay live!
The announcement of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour in Asia sparked immense excitement among fans, leading to a rapid sell-out of tickets in several countries. Singapore was a preferred destination for Indian fans during the Republic Day weekend in 2024. Singapore saw a surge in hotel bookings around the concert dates, particularly from Malaysia, Indonesia, and India.
